Seeing the world as mystical and opaque, I tackle the unknown through object-making. I intuitively utilize organic and inorganic forms, moments, and engagements to indicate narratives around representation and self-definition. My sculptures are mediators between spirituality and reality, examining themes of longing, loss, and nostalgia. In an effort of connecting to this disembodied presence that infiltrates the spectrum of time, I’m creating a spiritual realm that unfolds situations that are absent: the moments when I miss living under the ocean, being a ripple of a puddle, or a moss in an anonymous valley… I feel my presence in every part of history, and yet here I am: setting renderings that are potentially far away and long ago, I see myself settling into the unknown, with ambivalence, in suspension.
